Thirteen-year-old Meir has a philosophy that guides everything he does: never give up. It's a lesson he's learned through his own journey, and it shows in his strong optimism.
Living with cerebral palsy, Meir faces certain challenges, but his perspective is crystal clear: "Even though I have certain challenges, I'm still a kid. I have friends, Thank G-d, and I’m happy.” Sometimes things are harder for him than for everyone else, but that's exactly what taught him his guiding philosophy. Through every challenge, he's learned to keep going.
Meir's gratitude runs deep. He's thankful that he can walk and that he's getting better. He's grateful for his parents who are together and for his father who "always gives me a lot of courage." The counselors at Camp Simcha aren't just staff to him. They're friends who truly care and show up when he needs them.
To other kids facing their own struggles, Meir has a message that comes straight from the heart: "I know how it feels, and it will get better." And to the world, his message is simple: "Even though you're going through hard stuff, it's not the end of the world. You should never give up. Keep going and growing until it gets better."
Meir resilience isn't about avoiding challenges. It's about embracing life fully, finding joy in every day, and never stopping your journey forward.
